Orthopedics at Rush
Rush University Medical Center has long been considered a pacesetter in orthopedic care with physicians and researchers who strive to pioneer safer, faster and less expensive ways to reclaim lost mobility and eliminate pain. In July 2009, Rush was once again named one of the nation's top hospitals in a number of specialties by U.S.News & World Report. Rush Orthopedics was ranked higher than any other program in Illinois and #12 in the nation.
At Rush, talented and compassionate physicians and researchers collaborate closely to solve specific orthopedic challenges seen in the exam room. This synergy between lab and bedside means our patients benefit from the most innovative approaches and latest treatments, including joint restoration procedures that use tissue implants to regenerate knee and shoulder joints, as well as cementless joint implants and knee replacements shaped specifically for women. Our focus is on restoring your mobility and function, as quickly and painlessly as possible.
As part of its commitment to the very best patient care, Rush recently partnered with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush to construct a new five-story orthopedic outpatient facility. The stunning new building groups nearly all of Rush’s orthopedic diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation spaces in one area, facilitating collaboration among specialists and increasing convenience and comfort for our patients and their families.
In addition to the Orthopedic Building, Rush is constructing a new 14-story hospital facility. Scheduled for completion in 2012, the hospital will add eight state-of-the art orthopedic operating suites specially designed to accommodate teams of clinicians collaborating to achieve the best outcomes for patients. The suites will be equipped with the latest surgical and imaging equipment and are part of a $1 billion campus transformation initiative designed to place Rush on the cutting edge of patient care.
